Current Wardrobe Staples..

Hey Lovelies,

Now I don't know about you but every season I have a few staple items in my wardrobe that I just love to wear and basically rotate my outfits around. I thought I would show you all mine, and my reasons for them being my current wardrobe staples. As I'm sure over the Christmas season, my usual casual style may be livened up a little bit to keep up with parties, family dinners and all the glitz and glamour of the festive season!

  • Berry Snood- F&F- Tesco- A very practical item, a scarf is always essential to me in the winter as it makes such a difference keeping you warm! I love snoods like this that are big, fluffy and cosy. The colour was what drew me to this, a rich autumnal berry which is definitely one of my favourite colours this season. As I'm also pretty boring with my outfit colours, the splash of berry adds a bit of colour too!

  • Grey Leather Biker Jacket- Miss Selfridge- This is probably my favourite jacket of ALL TIME, yes it even beats the shaggy/faux fur Tammy girl coat that I received when I was 11 and paraded around the living room on Christmas day or my French Connection (ooh get me) duffel coat with fur collar. I used to love that coat when I was 14, needless to say this was during my 'trainers and jeans' phase. CRINGE. But yes I love this jacket, it's fitting and is a unique colour. I'm also loving the fact that even though it's late November it's still warm enough to wear this coat which has 3/4 length sleeves. I bet another couple of weeks though and I'll be in my winter coat, so I'm making the most out of this bad boy!

  • Peter Pan Collar contrast top- New Look - I actually picked this top up from the kids section in New Look, sometimes, just sometimes having a childlike top half can be beneficial! But all my peter pan collar tops are currently my favourite wardrobe staples. I'm REALLY loving pairing a peter pan collar vest top underneath different tops and dresses to create new looks to them!

  • Cosy PJ bottoms- Primark- It's cold outside and it gets dark really early, so when I come home from a busy day at uni there is nothing more I love than getting into my cosy fleecy pj bottoms from Primark, lighting some candles and settling down to watch some telly! How rock and roll am I eh? In all seriousness these bottoms are why legs were invented. These bottoms are like heaven to my legs, in fact whenever I put them on I'm sure I hear my legs let out a hallelujah chorus. These are amazingly comfy and if you see some in your local Primark for a bargain price of £5.00 grab some and run home to wear them! You won't want to wear any other trousers ever again!

  • Denim shorts- Topshop- If you read my beauty blog Dizzybrunette3, you will probably already know about my love of shorts. I've always loved my shorts and I wear them all year round which always makes my family laugh. My sister Hayley who thinks she is a comedian has a joke/impression of me and she'll say " oooh it's snowing outside, what shall I wear? I know shorts!" I'm not really a fan of jeans so I mostly stick to shorts in the winter paired with 100 denier opaque tights though, none of the flesh coloured tight malarkey.

  • Tan Boots- Primark- I've been wearing these boots pretty much constantly ever since I bought them. They're really comfy and have a little heel to add a tiny bit of height which believe me I need. However I do sometimes feel a bit like a builder in them and they're definitely more of a casual boot. I'm still searching for the perfect black wedge ankle boot for dressier/smarter occasions!
So there we go, my current wardrobe staples, most days I turn to one or more of these items and maybe Santa will bring me some new wardrobe staples to feature.

What's your current wardrobe staples?

I hope you all have a lovely Monday evening, the worst day of the week is over! Yay :)

Online Profile #1 Missguided

Hey Lovelies!

Another little series of posts that I've decided to set up for this blog is a little profile for some of my fave online shopping sites and my favourite picks from their range at the moment. Check me out with all my little series of posts eh! I am proper getting into this blogging for uni malarky! Today the first post is about one of my fave online retailers Missguided. I love it so much it's one of my saved tabs as I visit it that often.

Taken from the Missguided website, they say....
"Missguided is a fresh and vibrant online store that aims to stay on top of the latest trends in order to provide our customers with the best that the fashion world has to offer."

One of the things I love the most about Missguided is the affordable prices, you can get stuff which is almost identical to Topshop but of course is a fraction of the price. Missguided also offer a free delivery service and 10% student discount which with being a student is a big bonus!

I've ordered a couple of things from Missguided before and have been impressed with the quick delivery and good quality. Obviously sometimes ordering online can be a bit of a hit and miss as you can't see the quality of the clothes but I've always been pleased with Missguided.

Here are my current faves from the Missguided website:

All taken from the Missguided website

At the Cosmo Blog Awards I met Sara who is the Creative Executive/Stylist for Missguided and very kindly offered to send me something to review on my blog, so look out for that review very soon on the other Dizzybrunette3- the beauty version! Ooh I feel weird like I have a twin or something! Ha imagine two of me! Don't think my boyfriend could cope!

Missguided have had a bit of a revamp lately and have had a facelift on their website and launched their first ever tv advert! I love the new look of the website, it's so cute and proper up my street!

Do you like Missguided? Where's your favourite place to shop from the comfort of your sofa?

I hope you all have a lovely rest of your day :)

Style Crush #1- Caroline Flack

Hey Lovelies!

So I've decided for one of my first posts on 'Fashion According to Dizzybrunette3' to start up a new collection of posts based around my style crushes. I love flicking through celebrity magazines and eyeing up celebrities fashion, I know that some people think the whole point of fashion is to be original but I don't see anything wrong with taking some inspiration and making it your own. I take lots of inspiration from lots of different celebrities but usually I have a phase of focusing on just the one and at the moment, my fave style crush is Caroline Flack.

Caroline who I'm sure you all know is the host of the Xtra Factor on ITV2 and most of the time I tune in just to see what she's wearing! She wears a mixture of high street and designer clothes but it's mostly picks from high street stores such as Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Zara which is great for girls who want to take inspiration but don't have the cash to splash at designer boutiques.

Here is a selection of my favourite looks from Caroline Flack. Sources for pictures from The Daily Mail

From looking at pictures of Caroline, it's easy to see what types of clothes she goes for, the usual suspects are peter pan collars, lace and shorts/playsuits. I am very similar to Caroline in this way, I also love these three things which is probably why I am drawn to her style. She is also petite like me so I know by taking inspiration from her wardrobe it will suit me too, for example if I looked at someone like Kate Moss their clothes might not suit me as much as they're taller.

I searched online for some Caroline Flack inspired pieces and actually found some items that she's actually worn!

LINKS:
Top Row:
Dress: ASOS (worn on Xtra Factor)
Playsuit: Topshop (worn to Twilight Breaking Dawn Premier)
Bottom Row:
Velvet Shorts: Topshop (worn to the Cosmo Awards & to interview Frankie Cocozza)
Shorts: Miss Selfridge (worn on Xtra Factor)

I have to admit I will be sad when X Factor finishes as I'll no longer be able to see what Caroline is wearing! If you're a big fan too of Miss Flack's wardrobe, here are some useful links, her stylist Rachel Bakewell's Twitter  who posts updates about what Caroline's wearing and where it's from and She's a Secret Shopper which is a fab blog based on celebrity style and is amazing for finding out where celebrities clothes are from!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :)

Fancy Seeing You Here!

Hey Lovelies!

So you're probably wondering just what this blog is all about aren't you? Well if you're a follower of my main beauty blog Dizzybrunette3 or Youtube channel you will know who I am. If you're new to the world of Dizzybrunette3, I'll give you a quick little introduction. I'm Corrie, (no I wasn't named after Coronation Street before you ask) and I have a penchant for make up, shorts and Caroline Flack.

This is my face.

I'm a final year university student and one of my modules is called 'Media Communications Project' where I have to set up a media project. There is more to it but I thought I'd wrap it up in a nutshell! I decided that for my project I would set up a new fashion blog. I love fashion but sometimes feel that if I wrote fashion posts it may not fit in with my blog Dizzybrunette3 as that is solely based around beauty. So I thought that setting up a new blog would be the easiest thing to do and would of course let people decide which blog they wanted to read instead of throwing it all in one blog! It would be like an all you can eat buffet but of the blog variety!

I'll mostly be posting outfit posts, probably the same ones that I post on Dizzybrunette3 but I'll also be looking at celebrity fashion styles, my favourite picks of the moment and much more. I don't really want to say, I'll be posting about this and this because I'll jinx myself and it'll never happen!

I hope you enjoy 'Fashion According to Dizzybrunette3' thanks for reading :)
